Free Verse # 90

Your words,
hot stars gliding
along the curves of my skin,
churning my inner waters
into a frenzy of white waves.

~

At night, when all is quiet,
I feel you whisper in my blood,
and your voice, a mighty river of stars,
tears open my chest to churn through the sky.

~

Come,
whisper sweet words into my ear
awakening my heart
as the garden awakens
feeling dawn breathe.

~

Spill your liquid essence over me
as the sun spills her golden nectar
setting afire the whole sky.

~

Night is not a time for sleep.
At morn, all of love’s passionate play
is seen and felt wetting the earth,
cool kisses, dewdrops of life.

~

I am an endless desert.
Come, venture inside of me.
Surrender your wounds to my burning sun
and let me sear the pain away.
Let your all thoughts drown in my silence.
Let your thirst find my hidden wells
where water flows deep.

~

Cascading silk.
Her hair,
an autumn flare
searing where it strokes.

~

Oh! love’s heavenly scriptures.
In a tear, a smile,
in a dewed rose beholding the sun.

  1. The whole thing is beautiful, but the second stanza is particularly lovely. You can feel the imagery and movement.

      1. It does become alive, and in that moment it changes me a little from who I was before I read the piece to who I became after I absorbed it. Fills me with possibility.

    1. Love makes bloom in us the hidden and unseen, the unmanifest taking form in every moment and birthing the world. Love opens our chest to the emptiness that scatters existence into being like the woman’s womb scatters the stars and mists of creation.

I am torn, broken open in such a deep way. God!
