At dawn, your breath,
a white wave washing over me,
sinking between my lips
and gathering my heartbeats,
sowing them like seeds
in the garden of our love
Your touch unlocking my being,
the great tide of my heart
broke upon your shore,
In your universe I turn
from quivering flesh,
to streaming music,
to endless dewdrops
coming undone and fading
All things you truly love
shall burn and dissolve you into thin air
like the fire does the aloes wood
freeing its pure scent.
Let me be your home,
a rose holding the dewdrop
deep inside her heart.
To your temple of silence I deliver my heart.
The waters of my being quieten and still;
Light rises to my eyes, and flows;
Veils fall off;
I am whole.
My soul’s passion,
a single dewdrop falling from my mouth
and melting in yours.
Drunk on too many wine-kisses
your tongue suddenly flicks
like a match inside my mouth and lo!
Heat solders our lips and bodies,
flames eat us whole.
In the inmost core,
in inconceivable darkness,
in utter stillness and solitude –
a womb of infinite warmth
birthing all of life.
Full moon on the pond,
light breaking on cold water,
night, a silent breath.
Heaven’s insatiable lust for the Earth.
Each word whispered in your ear,
a fire-flower unfurling in silence,
and melting into wine deep inside your heart.
Fingers tangled like old roots,
mouths locked into a burning sun,
lives merged, beyond comprehension.
Queen of my Heart
With moonlight for threads I string the stars,
a crown above your head.
The light of dawn round your body I weave,
stillness in a blue dress.
In deep stillness
a voice rises from within
and churns through the chest
like a river of stars
permeating the whole body,
and flowing beyond.
Would that I were the water,
embracing your body,
pouring into your mouth.
Would that I were the wind,
breezing through your hair,
burning in your chest.
Charcoal, her breath,
a gray cloud on red lips, painting,
a hidden world in colour…
The wildflower awaits
her beloved’s gentle touch
to release all her fragrance.
a giveaway song flutters in the air
filling outstretched cups with a warm wine
and preparing love and lovers for the blazing night.
His gentle strokes and presence,
a spring wind shivering her roots and branches
as fruits fall ripe and full in love’s basket,
a gift to his hungry mouth.
Waiting to be plucked,
Stars in your eyes, glistening,
Summer fruits of love.
A one-rose garden,
my heart in your womb, pulsing,
birthing seeds of life.
Hecatomb of lust,
night’s stars on our wild altar
doused in burning blood.
My hands over our face,
a tidal flow of stars.
My heart, a sun upon my lips,
kissed between your eyes.
The heart that knows the splendour of dawn
is blessed with a light no darkness can soil.
To consume and be consumed,
a desire so ravenous and pure
it delivers our trembling bodies
unto the burning altar of love.
As our lips merge our heart,
rooted in the garden of forever,
blooms into the sun.
a flick of tongue along your endless curves
smearing wine and honey and reaping — ecstasy.
Gazing in your halcyon eyes
a dawn so clear enters my soul
that I break into song.
I am wine-spirit
bubbling in the vessel of your heart.
At night you pour me,
a froth of stars in the sky.
At dusk and dawn
a crimson kiss uniting
darkness and light.
In my heart you are the ocean
and I a river rushing to your open embrace,
anxious and full of joy
to reach the source of all life,
dawn’s fountain of grace.
We are lovers through and through.
Fiery threshing only removes our clothes,
bringing our core and face to merge
into a fountain of light.
I dream of love not as a negation of all being
but as a place outside of place,
a time outside of time
where no being is left to negate.
In the presence of my beloved
I become wholly transparent,
a pure soul soaking in
her breath and fountain-eyes,
drowning in her essence,
a dewdrop vanishing inside the rose.
Does the Sufi whirl?
Or does he stand still as around him
the whole world whirls and spins?
Arriving and leaving at every moment, I am nowhere to be found.
I gaze in your eyes and mind’s compass breaks;
Heart’s hidden garden, blossoms and awakes.
In the sky a new day, as morn’s star sets
Path and direction to love’s flowing lakes.
I Miss You…
Often time the pain
of your absence reaches into my chest
and presses at my heart,
squeezing droplets so red
that only one can paint the whole sky.
Let me plunge my hands
in the dawn of your presence,
cool water to wash my face and body,
awaken my soul to the clarity of your sky.
Blooming from her watery soul,
a white lily with petals spread upwards,
embracing the sky.
petals of flowing wine folding my body.
flames of honeyed lust suckling at my heart.
Will you take my life, Love?
And if I place the entire passion of my soul
as a knife burning in your hands,
will you deliver it back, love,
into my heart?
Fading one by one
In the white pond of silence,
Stars whispering, dawn.
Faint rustle of leaves,
In the air, the scent of spring
Kissing joyous hearts.
Autumn’s dewed caress
Seeping down my neck as mist
Covers the world, still.
Your mouth and mine,
parched riverbeds of desire
aching to merge in the grace of love and burst,
a flood of wild waters in the heart of life.
Still, the flower blooms
whispering in the wind’s heart
the scent of silence.
days past and days to come, all
blowing with the wind.
Piercing city walls –
the crickets’ lulling song,
the soft basil scent.
Soft murmurs of dusk
stroking the garden’s stillness,
in the sky, the moon.
Over the far hills,
from between the clouds, the moon,
pouring her white waves.
As if the ground underneath
was made of piano keys or lute strings,
her every step reverberates with music
filling the earth up to the sky.
I stretch my body before you
like an endless desert,
not even a shadow
clouds my flesh or longing.
Open to your presence…
At the crossroads of tomorrow I wait for you.
A rose in my hand,
its petals and thorns
crowned with my tears and winedrops.
On my face a smile,
and a wistful song.
A moon overfull with longing bursts,
sighs raining like stars over the singing waves.
My body longs to embrace yours
as the desert’s thirst
makes her cry for the rain,
each sigh imploring the heavens
to send down her tidal rage.
Under your touch I blossom,
a white lotus singing praise to the moon.
Wing to wing we fly,
two birds between the clouds.
The trails we leave behind
are the poems we write into the sky.
Your face and mine,
now the sun and the moon,
now the earth and the sky,
eternally locked in a kiss divine.
Froth kissed, naked,
surrendered to the waves
chanting your name I wait,
for you to return
and my heart reclaim.
I am your inner fire,
I am your passion and desire;
I am the weaver of your dreams,
the mystic tunes spilling from your seams.
I am he who churns your blood
into the poetry dusk scatters
in the reddening horizons.
I am love, your heartbeats,
your breaths as they fly…
The tear welling up in your eye
I feel against my cheek,
sighing as it rolls.
The smile at the corners of your lips
I feel fluttering against my face,
shining as it flies.
I am a night drunk on its own stars.
The only juice I drink
I squeeze from my own heart.
Harnessing your face
in my cup of wine,
sip after sip it empties
to shine again from the sea of stars,
from a place deep within my heart.
Even your knife, beloved,
plunged in my chest,
is a gift beyond all measure.
Whether it be made of ivory or bamboo
the same breath flows through the flute,
and the same tune rises
to shroud the forest in mystery,
quiver the stars in the womb of night.
I live in the shadow of your mountain.
When your breath breezes through the ancient trees
I close my eyes and listen,
woven in your majesty.
a summer cloud in a twilight sky
scattering winedrops in the far horizon,
a pristine spring flowing untouched
in the forest deep.
Penetrating into each other’s souls
wounds become fountains of light
and tears stars burning in the womb of night,
the deep pools of their eyes.
and all things are aflame
from the inside out.
Your colourful wings folding my face and body
you pierce into my welcoming heart,
suckle on my best preserved nectar,
drowning me in ecstasy,
melting me in your infinite warmth.
Let me walk your body with my kisses,
dewdrops and flowers sprouting under my lips,
rising from under your skin and sighing,
There is a rose inside the rose,
when it blooms
the outer rose becomes the sun.
a fire-flower searing desire’s ink
into your tender skin,
etching along your curves
hymns of flowing wine,
frothing as they churn,
scattering poetry in sighs.
Like the full moon over the ocean,
in your presence
all my waters are perturbed
and helplessly drawn
to the aura of your majesty.
Ripeness comes to the fruit from inside the tree.
We are fruits too, life woven into life.
Now feel your roots pulsing in the deeps…
fire’s tip licking core and womb,
churning love’s blissful ecstasies.
All of mankind’s divine scriptures
were written on woman’s body,
inscribed inside her heart.
Woman’s body is religion itself,
the divine vessel of love.
Let that be our worship.
Let that be our devotion.
Let that be our love.
I perfected myself into a flawless circle.
But then, one dawn of day
your love came with a pointed needle
gifting me with sight
and inner peace,
bursting me into
the emptiness of the blue sky.
My heart’s light
became a sunlike fountain
flowing from my face
out into the world.
By taking away from me
that which was most precious
you gifted me with a love
beyond all imaginings.
O love, I am at your feet…
Wound my heart with your kiss, love,
so that when you leave rivers of stars shall stream
from the sorrowing mouth
and fill the whole sky
with longing – for you.
let your breath of stars
sweep over me,
a faint reminder
of my beloved’s hair…
No more I and you;
we bow to the higher We.
Love, a warm, simple kiss
weaving itself into a life
of tender harmony.
We live to feel understood,
revealed and embraced
in our deepest essence
by the one we love.
As our breaths died on each other’s lips
our eyes opened to wade in each other’s silence.
Into my body I call in the night,
moon and stars, dreams and lust,
and out I birth it again,
fountains of love singing wild delight.
Once every full moon
a dove comes perching at my window,
in her beak a fragrant lock of your dark hair
dripping wet with moonlight and stars.
Taking it in my hands
it unfurls into a white wine that I drink,
a warmth breathing life in heart and soul,
sustaining me until the day we’re one again.
The heart’s pulp would not turn to wine
unless it be crushed on the sacred altar of love.
My heart is a star
hollowed out by love
so it could wear your finger,
turn like a necklace
round your neck.
Droplets from a citrus sun
I squeeze onto your tongue,
sprinkle a dash of stars for salt,
and pour in noon’s golden ale
for a deep, playful kiss.
Resting in desire’s lap
the bowl of poetry is overflowing
like a full moon.
Dip your fingers, my love,
and write my body into existence,
a sacred verse crowning your sky.
Only the spirit can uplift the body
to an ecstasy far beyond the stars,
to a clarity deeper than the stillness of dawn.
our dreams flutter in the nightsky,
plant kisses as brilliant stars
guiding lovers home.
Love’s absence reveals its depth,
as the sun fading over the horizon
reveals heaven’s truth,
our kinship with the stars.
a drifting starry sky below gazing
at the milky way above.
the silence of the night
enfolding us in the great mystery.
