Free Verse # 159 (I die a million deaths)

My lips against your eyelids
and your face becomes an ocean
heaving softly,
its waves, like the light of dawn,
charged with dew and mystic scents,
breaking against my face.

~

I die a million deaths,
pass through a million lives,
wait eternities upon eternities
to touch your fingers,
gaze into your eyes,
feel your breath.

~

The salty voice of the sea
lives on your lips.
When I kiss you my thirst grows
and I want to kiss you more,
drink you deeper, and deeper
until I am filled by your waters
and am no more.

But you only allow one kiss.

~

This word
which my heart shaped
from his fire and blood
I rub into your lips,
then seal it with a kiss.

~

Even your silence shatters
my composure
into the laughter
of an open meadow
filled with waves
of clamouring flowers
welcoming the dawn

~

Like a moist, red dawn
your lust envelops me,
weeping dewdrops
burning with the scent of musk,
grinding slowly,
rising, falling,
into ecstasy.

~

I wear your scent
like the garden wears
the light of dawn.

~

I paused to look at you. Little did I know that that gaze would engulf me, forever, a wave sweeping me into the ocean’s depth and floor.

Free Verse # 158 (weeping silently)

Since birth
a wanderer I’ve been,
searching for my heart.
Finding you, I found it.
O beloved,
ever has it grown
in the palms of your hands.

~

In the fading light of dusk
your voice rises,
a violin’s tune
weeping into the sky,
calling on the night
and its infinite stars.

~

In the profundity of her eyes
lurks oceans of unfathomable depths,
skies glimmering like abysses of light,
and stars frothing poetry and wine.

In the profundity of her eyes
I am reduced to silence,
thrown open like a dawn
giving birth to light.

~

Like a violin
holding you at your neck
I absorb into me
your vulnerability,
the rawness of your emotions,
and quiver into music.

~

Kissing,
breathing into each other,
our bodies quiver like flutes
exhaling music,
silently weeping
and scattering our heat
as full drops of dew.

~

That night,
your face fell into my dreams
as a full moon from the sky,
and suddenly,
like a coup de foudre,
your love was born inside of me.

~

As a sudden dislocation
in some hidden depth,
rupturing all my being
yet, somehow, completing me,
your love skyward hurls me,
deep into the sun.

~

In vain we battle
the pull of our skin,
two suns fated
to burst into each other,
merge pulp and fiery core,
perfecting love’s sin.

~

Life becomes tasteless ~ deprived of your lips.

~

Love contains a paradox—the harmony of a deep seated and perpetual convulsion.

~

There’s only one way to fall in love—without knowing why or how or when; a spark scintillating in the womb of innocence.

Free Verse # 157 (her face haunts my heart)

Contracting and expanding
to the rhythm of your breath,
I am an endless sea
stretching beyond the stars.

~

Would that I could take
your mouth in mine
as a luscious, red fruit,
split it open to suckle
at the nectar of its sun.

~

Mellow and melancholic,
the gray sky over
the horizon of my life
promising lightning
and endless fires.

~

Her face haunts my heart
like the sun and moon
reigning over the sky,
like the song of rain, falling,
echoes through the endless night.

~

When my heart is heavy
I cast it like a stone
into the ocean of your love…

~

By the shore I wait for you,
planting fiery poems in the sky
hoping to guide you home.

~

This—to lay my head next to yours on the same pillow, have our hearts beat full and whole, fingers tangled, breaths merged, lives oned.

~

Lose yourself in me—not as water entering the sea-cave, but as a wave rising higher and higher to crash into the sky.

~

Which infinitely soft light or warm, gentle hand shall seep into my darkness which is nonetheless a radiant light?—

~

Anticipation bridles my heart with anguish, as a flower, head heavy with cold dew, tilts, awaiting the dawn.

Free Verse # 156 (I colour you with the night)

Each word, leaving your lips,
now rolls like thunder
through mount and vale,
now whispers like a tender flower
in the mouth of the wind.

~

Her breath,
lightning whips
wrapped around my skin.

~

I hold you into me
as a dewdrop in the heart of the rose
soaking into your skin
the perfume of my poetry.

~

Carrying secret births and stars ~
the winds of the night billowing between our ribs.

~

Let this love be the harbinger of our death,
our dissolution in the body of one…

~

Her lips carry the scent
of a long faded summer

~

Swaying hips
and twisting flowers at their necks,
her voice bursting
like rivers of wild music.

~

Etch the cadence of your lips
deep into my skin
so that, as night awakens
in the solitude of my din,
your song in me spills
homecoming winds.

~

In the meeting of our eyes
eternity itself
becomes a roaring sea.

~

Night, with his starry beak
pecks at my chest, piercing it,
and I, a fountain of love,
burst into song.

~

The star of solitude
ever brighter shines
in the seventh sky,
below it, oceans stretch,
now wild and roaring,
now serene like the dawn.

~

Even your draught,
touching me with its sceptre,
burns my heart into overflow.

~

To love you so much
that, your tears, falling,
roll down along my cheeks,
and your smile, blooming,
shines upon my face.

~

Our kisses be the peaks
and the silence in between
the afterglow of ecstasy.

~

Stars of the night
pouring into my hands
and blossoming into a flower
that I place in your hair

~

Let my touch channel into you
endless rivers of stars.

~

With my thumbs
I rub stars into your eyelids,
brush your lashes
with their fiery fragments,
smear your lips with their wine.
I colour you with the night.

I Want to Know You – A lover’s declaration

I want to know you as you exist within,
in the dark and thick depth
between your heart and your skin,
that vast, boundless interiority
inhabited by your self,
the heaving of your breath,
I want to know your un-uttered words,
gather them like pearls cast on the shores of your dawn,
I want to know you as you are
between yourself and yourself,
I want to know your grapes of anger and regret
and press them into the finest wine,
I want to know you in your flaws,
your nakedness, scars, and stretchmarks,
I want to know your insecurities and fears
and kiss them as they turn
like dark halos around your eyes,
I want to know your hopes and dreams
stretching like little flowers
in gardens hidden deep within your skin,
I want to know the infinite shades of your eyes
and how the entire world reflects therein,
I want to know the whole spectrum of your smiles,
the little dances at the corners of your lips,
I want to know how your laughter bursts and flows
not only as streams among the hills
but also how it reverberates between your ribs,
I want to know the secrets
you kept hidden even from yourself,
I want to taste your tears,
those flowing on your cheeks
but also those streaming inward, down to your heart,
I want to know you as I know myself,
in the darkness of my closed eyes,
in the streaming of my blood,
I want to inhabit the linings of your skin,
be the clothes you wear,
the air you breathe,
the water embracing your body to wash and cleanse,
I want to live inside your breath, your every beat of heart,
weaved into your every thought and dream,
I want to be the tunes your soul whispers,
her musical notes, and the silence in between.

Free Verse # 155 (in the silence of my heart, you dwell)

As night sat in
I burned all my poems
on the altar of our love
then mixed them with my tears
and rubbed them into your body
claiming you, mine.

~

Through secret ways
our souls speak,
like the sun with the dawn flowers,
the moon with the singing waves.

~

On what wings must I rise
to flutter between the stars?
A butterfly suckling their fiery nectar,
the dust of its wings covering the nightsky.

~

One by one
let me press my poems
through your navel ~
drink them like watery moans
from your mouth.

~

I can imagine that the moon is the sacred well at which all the stars come to replenish themselves and drink—your womb being the moon.

~

My chest is a nocturnal gateway
through which fiery birds fly
reaching for the stars.

~

On your collarbones ~ I hew my poetry.

~

In affective disarray,
a red leaf swaying in autumn’s palm
flown from ecstasy to ecstasy.

~

This star I set in your palm,
bid it to melt into your blood
and through your veins stream and whisper
– poetry…

~

My kiss ~
a volcano of lust
sweeping through your being,
raging at your core.

~

Blending our tears
we mark our kingdom’s boundaries,
a place where the sun never sets,
where our limbs unfurl their madness
and dance, one…

~

My kisses,
dispersed over your body
like clouds in the sky of dawn
weeping silently.

~

Wielding the sun
at the tip of my lips
I sink into your body.

~

Home ~
where the sun and moon
play inside our kiss.

~

In the silence of the heart
you whisper to me,
a morning star
in the sky of dawn.

~

In the silence of the heart,
in the secret realm
within the soul, you dwell,
a wordless thought,
a jubilant wave,
a breaking dawn.

Free Verse # 154 (my love is hard and demanding)

This sacrificial poem I place
on night’s altar then light the fire,
bidding it to rise in smoke
and find its way to you.

~

Thirsty, my skin soaks you in
As the earth receives
The first autumn rain.

~

Your face ~
a starry constellation imprinted into my chest,
revolving around my heart,
burning in my breath.

~

What anchors me in you?
A breath older than time and memory;
a promise of a home open like the sky,
spun of moonlight and poetry.

~

My kiss on your forehead ~
a morning star burning in the clarity of dawn.

~

My Eastern Princess ~
your body is the temple of the sun.

~

Our heartbeats,
quickening to a full stop,
in the merging of our breaths.

~

Lightning in her lips dwells ~ incinerating bliss.

~

My love is hard and demanding,
it settles for nothing less
than burning you to the core.

~

To have your body dwell in mine, as my own;
be familiar with its every fragment as with home;
with its flux and change, a gardener and his rose.

~

Take me ~
as the breeze of dawn caresses the flowers,
as the waves embrace the shore time and again, forever.

~

I will wait in the garden
where the breaths of dawn and dusk
are weaved in my hands into a flower
as a gift to you.

~

Erasing their boundaries
night merges bodies into one
as love, touching us,
forges us into a single flame
writhing in the heart of the sun.

Indomitable Sun

Like a full moon
I press into your velvet sky,
stirring your primal waters into endless waves
breaking against the outlines of your skin,
shivering your breath to the rhythm of my tune,
and harnessing your stars, grape by grape,
pressing them into the hunger of my mouth,
fermenting them into a wine I then pour
into the eager thirst of your mouth,
filling you with a passion so pure
it overflows from your pores,
painting you, inside out,
shaping you, heart and soul,
burning you, dream and thought,
with a love so deep and wide
your joy, like an indomitable sun,
conquers the whole world.

Free Verse # 153 (I summon you)

You be a flute
quivering to the motion
of my breath,
filling forest and sky
with mystic resonance.

~

The deeper the love
the greater the intensity bursting
in the softest touch.
A mere breath
unleashes stars.

~

Night…
I cradle you inside of me
As a cosmos filled with stars…

~

Mouths take in, consume,
but not so with lovers who,
soldering their lips,
spill into each other
oceans and oceans of life.

~

At night,
my thoughts of you
gather around me
like a bonfire,
keeping me warm.

~

Into your navel I press the full moon
and all through the night
I harness your body
as it weeps and scatters stars,
sacred verses of poetry.

~

In the firmament of your eyelids
I am a sun pouring light by day,
by night, a moon and an ocean of stars
weaving your secret dreams and fantasies.

~

More essential to me than my own self,
than water and air and food and sleep ~
you are.

~

My caress ~
a voice of infinite softness
like a wave moving over you ~
a moon bursting over your skin,
drowning you in ocean of white lust.

~

Dawn is but the glory of your eyes rising over me;
water, the bestowing touch of your lips and breath;
life itself, your very presence and touch.

~

I summon you into me
as water summons life
from the hidden depths of the earth.

Free Verse # 152 (let my body fall over you)

Cradled inside the kiss of dawn and dusk
our bodies become the rain embracing the earth,
our faces the sun and moon moving through the sky.

~

Imbued with madness,
Your touch inflaming my heart
Into overflow.

~

Against the high breeze
Wing to wing perfectly balanced,
Flying through the sky.

~

The taste of breaking dawn,
of twilight soaked in wine ~
life upon your lips.

~

Let my body fall over you ~
a curtain of oblivion,
wings of infinite whiteness
lifting you to the sky.

~

There is no music
save the motion of your body
within my eyes.

~

I be the light in your eyes
pouring silently
onto the sky of dawn.

~

I slip into you
as into an ocean
which depth opens
unto a hidden world
filled with secret dawns
and halcyonic songs.

~

Consumed by hunger
I feast on your love,
yet each bite leaves me
more and more crazed,
feverish and lost
deep inside this lust.

~

Our kiss ~
the confluence of rivers
roaring with stars.

~

Your absence is a thread
piercing through my heart
with a needle of stars,
knitting it into a tapestry
of your glorious love.

~

Your mouth upon my lips ~
a red fig burst open
surrendering pulp and stars
on the altar of desire.

~

I know she is close by
from the way the flowers sigh
as if they caught her scent.

~

Kissing,
a welter of stars
soaks into our lips,
blossoming at dawn
gardens of white flowers.

~

My touch kindles a fire
inside your skin,
plants you like a flame
right between my ribs.

Free Verse # 151 (Inseparably one)

Your scent
Amid the folds of my being burns
Like the rosy cheeks of love
Unfolding the dawn sky.

~

Breath and body tangled,
Our lust, a song of infinite softness
Bursting wet with rain.

~

The scent of jasmine in dawn’s cool breeze ~
your tender breath lapping over me,
rousing me to behold you,
a poem in the sky, unfolding.

~

Inseparably one ~
your heart beats in me
the passion in your veins,
my breath amid your ribs grows
the seeds of my being.

~

When I close my eyes
I feel you glow through my skin,
enveloping me, whole.

~

Surrender your thoughts into my heart,
incense in the censor of my passion, burning,
perfumed smoke to entangle us in the high of love.

~

Every falling leaf
is a red sigh on a lover’s lips
rippling hidden worlds.

~

Like dry hay in the presence of fire I shiver
though it be only your breath
lapping against my skin.

~

Like a song of stars
Night pours me over your body
And I soak into your thirsty soil,
Deep into your wells,
Glowing inside of you, a full moon.

~

The silken rays of dawn
I weave into a flower
that I place in your hair.

~

Alone, with the company of the stars,
your voice fills my cup
and I drink to our love.

~

Your kisses ~
crescent moons trailing
along the length of my skin.

~

My whispers fall like stars
In the desert your absence
As night, like a silent wave,
Spreads through my heart.

~

As if I grow radiant from the inside ~
Your kiss spills like light
From all my scars and pores.

~

Each sway of your hips ~
rain caressing the open plane in waves.

Free Verse # 150 (home)

Home ~
Wherever our house will be.
Our house ~
your hand in mine
below whatever canopy.

~

The sun and moon I plant
Over each of your eyes
And my kiss, in between,
A river flowing
With all the universe’s stars.

~

Your kiss,
Though cool like the dew of dawn,
Upon my lips burns hot like the sun.

~

Your love
An endless sea
Billowing between my ribs.

~

Would that my lips were the rays of sunlight
Bathing your naked body early in the morn.

Would that my eyes were the flow of moonlight
Enveloping you, a vessel in my heart.

~

My heart be the vessel carrying you
Onto the shore of dawn.

~

In the dark night of the soul
your face rises like a full moon
washing me naked
of shadow and misery.

~

Naught compares to the brilliance of your face ~
not the sun in her glory,
not the moon in her majesty,
not the stars in their mythic grace.

~

I thread your dark hair
over the sky then kiss you, and lo!
dawn…
