Free Verse # 148 (your eyes)

Every day when I wake
I happen upon your lips
As upon a white, tender flower
Eager to suckle
The warm ecstasy of dawn.

~

The dimples down your back
I baptise as my sun and moon
As above them my poetry spreads
In endless lines of tender ecstasy.

~

Your eyes,
From their distance,
Colour my night
With the hues of your soul,
The passion of your light.

  1. I like the fact that you started giving your poems names, as opposed to only numbers… it sort of gives them identity or a face… a personality.
