Free Verse # 185 (thunder clad)

As the beloved’s breath
entering the garden
your dawn has bloomed in me,
and I became your sunshine
and your shadow,
your light and your mystery.

Her eyes,
a seeping of white silk
draping sky and earth.

The world dissolved in the reflection of your face.

All my life I’ve been honing my heart so that, when the day comes, I could plant it in the heart of you.

She calls me to her lips
then she exhales me,
a breath charged with spring
fluttering amid dawn’s flowers
and making them sing.

Thunder clad,
her stillness
rolls through the world
like a roaring tide
of madness.
