Free Verse # 206 (he loved her…before they met)

In the sway of her hips
the winds and oceans
does she command.

~

The stars of the night
I curl into a poem,
Pour it in her heart.

~

Before his kiss
her flesh grew invisible,
the thrust of its flame
like a fiery spear
palpitating in her heart.

~

Her beauty seemed to bestow a favor upon the world, placing it in a debt it could only repay by unfolding itself like a garden at her feet.

~

He loved her so deeply she became interwoven into the very fabric of his flesh.

~

He gazed in her eyes and fell in love with the dawn that glowed inside.

~

He touched her
and he lost sight
of shore and bank,
the ocean billowed endless
as love’s wind blew his sail.

~

Washed into the tide of your silence my eyes opened and suddenly, as if for the first time, I saw the stars, each, a poem, each, a song.
