Our Silent Bond

Cradled on your breast
like a wave I sleep,
all night long
in a relentless rhythm
rushing to and fro,
swaying along the rise and fall
of your infinitely warm chest,
my dream like a poem
taking root in your soft flesh
and therein germinating,
deepening, growing, rising,
in the lush warmth of your body
bursting into a river of endless colours
and filling you to overflow
as with the exhale of your breath
the cloud of sacred union
becomes the cradle rooting us
in the womb of divine love.

Dawn comes and we awaken,
our eyes sunk in each other speaking
a silent bond wider than the sky,
greater than all life.
