Dissolving Her

Under her skin
she felt his touch
come to a boiling point
then overflow,
inexorable, relentless,
gushing out
from everywhere at once
and rushing,
a river carrying her to the sea,
dissolving her in the intimacy
of a dawn blushing through the sky,
watering the earth with a warmth
more gentle than a tear
hugging its own cheek.
