In Her Womb, His Soul

He was an ocean;
At his very fragrance
Her skin pulsed,
Her body melted into itself
Like a candle
Wanting to be engulfed;
A poem returning home,
Drowned, freed,
In this sweetest of all slaveries
Finally discovering
The reason her heartbeats
Pulsed so wild and passionate
Ever since she was born,
Beating with the taste
Of his salt on her lips,
In her womb, his soul.
