Free Verse # 321 (she does not know it yet)

She does not know it
but all my poems
are strands in her hair,
stars in her skin,
rivers gathering
in the ocean of her womb.

~

As a dark blanket
he fell over her,
a nightsky filled with stars,
now each in her skin burning
a dizzying world of love.

~

Between our ribs
these hushed breaths…
a flutter of birds
in the sky at dawn

~

Autumn’s morning sky…
a bird’s wings tracing
the outlines of her smile

~

Her sensuality
clang to his skin
like the morning breath
of jasmine and basil
stoked by a butterfly

~

The river of her hips
a churn and roar
across his lap sprawling
sodden verses in drips

~

Her silent gaze gathered
all the stars in the sky
and I was drunk feeling
how she whirled the embers
in the spaces of my heart
