Free Verse # 356 (coursing up her spine)

His words
He read into a river
Coursing up her spine,
And as he entered her
The river
Burst into the sky.

She loves her skin
For the truth it utters
When touched
By his ink.

False beliefs –
That our knotted fingers
Shall loosen
Once our hearts
Beat no more.

Waking flower
Roused by dawn
Touch my heart
With your sweet song.

I sometimes feel that
It is all fading
And we are just mist
Waiting to blow
Over the endless sea.
