Tanka # 80

Le soir jette
son manteau noir ;
dans la mer de sa peau
mon cœur bat
en fleurs-étoiles.

    1. I appreciate your comment and your taking the time to read my posts. I am trilinguist, Arabic being my mother tongue, French my second acquired language, and English my third. This being said, I write, at different intervals, and depending on the mood and choice of reading, in all three languages. This on the one hand; on the other, there is no such thing as “translating poetry.” Poetry cannot be translated, and only poets can write a poem in another language, re-create it. To write poetry in one language then translate the poems back to English is quite an endeavour for me. It would require time, effort, and opportune moments where the mood is right. I do not have the luxury. So I ask you to bear with me. And I thank you in advance.
