Love & Silence

Crystalline silence,
the heart a dewdrop
melting in the sky.

~

Cadence of silence –
A flock of butterflies
Burning through my soul.

~

In your simple glow
my life flows
you jasmine flower.

~

Twilight silence,
my life shining
in the first evening star.

~

Vessel of silence,
The empty heart waxes
Wider than the sky.

~

As the dawn
Coaxes the flower
Your breath in my heart

~

Resonant stillness,
The last voice of dusk melting
Winedrops in the sky.

~

Soon to vanish
these moving clouds,
twilight silence.

~

Morning sun,
every dewdrop
a flower.

~

Carefree butterfly
amid the white flowers,
one cloud in the sky.

~

Your scent
With the dawn breeze
Calling me home

~

My eyes –
two stars doused
in the sea of Your fire.

Haiku # 51

Still, the flower blooms
whispering in the wind’s heart
the scent of silence.

~

Calendar’s markings,
days past and days to come, all
blowing with the wind.

~

Piercing city walls –
the crickets’ lulling song,
the soft basil scent.

~

Soft murmurs of dusk
stroking the garden’s stillness,
in the sky, the moon.

~

Over the far hills,
from between the clouds, the moon,
pouring her white waves.

Free Verse # 94

The sun,
setting over the horizon,
steals the world’s breath
hurling our eyes
into an ocean of stars.

~

O Love,
drown me into your ocean of fire
and leave not a single cell in my body
unmarked by your joy and pain.
Love,
I am your slave…

~

Your tear like the warmest of kisses
fell to my palm,
therein to grow forevermore,
a beautiful tree bearing love’s fruits,
in silence.

~

Unheard, silent,
the dew at dawn finds the earth
and covers her vales and hills,
as your smiles and tears
find my body in my sleep
and drape my curves, wet.

~

My every kiss, whisper, and touch
snuggle in your heart,
soaking through your porous, thirsty skin.

~

Let me find you
at the edge of the world
where love is a simple house
and a small garden
made just for us two.

~

In the garden of flames,
among the red roses
I found your wild heart.

The sun kissed my veins
as I took you in my palms,
sheltering you, in me.

~

An old soul, in an odd place…

~

Come,
find me in love’s broken shadow
where everything wounded
grows beautiful and strong.

~

I don’t want your tender kisses.
Let your eagle talons
sink into my arms and back,
and your cat-like teeth
bite at my neck.
Let your ravenous desire
feast on my flesh.

~

Known –
as the sun and moon
were born from one heart.

~

Ever since I met you
I turned astronomer
tracing the orbits of stars
revolving in the universe
of your eyes.

~

In the grace of my love
your breasts ripen like full moons
birthing oceans of light.

~

Us, a perfect circle
knowing neither beginning
nor end.

~

In the silence of the world
I whisper to your heart
and your heart sings back,
his song rising from mine
and bubbling on my lips
like the fountain of dawn.

~

I am love forged with its own fire

~

Love’s fire has eaten away my core
leaving me open and empty
like the sky at dawn.

~

O Love, do not deprive me of my sadness,
rather, let it sink deeper into me
and rise as pure joy.

~

What am I?
I am a reed swaying inside Your flow of music.
Who am I?
I am the nameless manifesting itself in Your ebb and flow.

~

Like the morning mist before the rising sun
my mind dissolves in your presence.

~

A thousand stars burn in my eyes.
The Beloved kisses my forehead
and the stars upon my cheeks weep
tracing a universe of love.

~

Those who say what love should or should not be are ignorant of love. Love is the master; we, His slaves. Only by yielding do we walk the way. Lovers have no idea where they are going or why for they already know that they are in the ocean’s heart.

Free Verse # 93

The river’s roar fills the vale
and rises to merge with the voices
fading above in the sky of dusk.
Ahead, in the distance,
I hear my Beloved’s voice
calling me, calling me…

~

Over the mountain
the first star opens her eye.
The voices grow long
with the warm shadows
and soak in the gentle spread of silence
as the earth with one mighty blow
exhales outward, opening our eyes –
to the beings we are…

~

The sky darkens,
stars heave like waves
scattered by an unseen hand
and rushing to crash
over the transparent shore on high;
in the distance an owl hoots
rippling the pond of night,
deepening the silence.

~

Fluttering through the nightsky
the best of the stars I pluck
and with poetry for needle and thread
I weave them into a shawl
that I wrap round your neck

~

Over my shoulder the night I carry
a bag pregnant with stars,
and through the vales,
over the hills,
my solitary path I walk.

~

Dawn.
All the birds are singing,
a half-moon in the sky.

I, too, am a birdsong
rising in this sky.

~

I am a white pearl
shaped by love’s desire
to find my resting place
on my lover’s red tongue

~

The sun’s curtain of light
slowly draping earth’s face,
like the draw of my breath and gaze
over the face of the one I love.

~

Ever since love lived in my heart
I’ve been living inside the heart of love

~

The Moon

A crown over the mountain;
over the earth, love’s scepter.

Your Breath

Upon your lips,
a fragrant spring breath;
in your hair,
a cool summer breeze
laden with jasmine
and the moon’s white scent.

~

Your face,
a twilight sun spilling
a bohemian song into the sky,
crimson breaths drifting
like unheard whispers,
then setting,
into my heart.

~

Your voice,
an autumn song blowing with the wind,
loosening all the red and golden leaves
and casting them tenderly,
raindrops in my heart.
