Senryu # 122

The boundless night…
uprooted stars
dewing without a sigh

~

Holding up her skirt
and laughing…
flower in the rain

~

No more words,
all my ink melted
to course her red lips.

~

Her perfumed gown
dropped with a sigh,
in the moonlight
a white flower.

~

Radiant fragrance…
jasmine flowers at dusk
drinking the moonlight

~

Summer rain
and a kiss blooming
like fire in the sky

~

Through the forest trees
the twilight sun burning,
in the air the moon

~

Moment of clarity,
in the air
the moon’s fragrant hum

Free Verse # 212 (your name on my lips)

Your name
A flower on my lips
Every dawn sighing
The sweetest poetry.

~

A snowflake
in your breath thawing;
a dewdrop
soaked into your skin;
a flower
from your lips sighing;
then silence,
the flow from your eyes.

~

I wanted to be alone but you touched me and I no longer knew what lays outside of me.

~

Filled to overflow
with the waters of this love –
like an earth whose lips
for too long drank
from the sorrowing sky
then burst into bloom –
every nook and cleft
in the garden of my skin
has a song to sing,
a flower to lay
on the sacred altar
of your bubbling womb.

~

I loved my winters for they taught me what it is to burn and become flame.

~

Thus we sank
tangled in bliss,
our limbs coated,
soaked to the core
with poetry.

~

No longer a stranger
amid the trees of your forest,
like the fire-bird that flew back to the sun
I am one with the life that in you dwells.

~

Drunk
The flower of the night
From having sipped at your scent;
The sky
A whirlpool of stars
Heady with desire.

~

This poem
I lay upon the sky’s eyelids
as they close;
opening
the poem will be a flower
brimming with endless stars,
each a kiss eager to melt
in the wellsprings of your eyes.

Free Verse # 118 (in your trail of stars)

I rest my head on my pillow
and my eyes fill with fireflies,
your heart’s burning whispers
fluttering, melting,
tears on my cheeks,
dreams in my heart

~

Nothing would taste sweeter to my mouth
than those sacred tears that roll
not on your cheeks but,
falling from your eyes,
they seek for your heart.

~

Sorrow in my heart grows,
a gray cloud refusing to weep.

The beloved arrives,
a thorn in her hand,
on her face a loving smile,
and quickly she does her job,
soaking me in my own tears,
then bathing me in the warm clarity
of her light and heart.

~

The flowers sighing
in your garden of dawn
shape me into life.

I am your fragrant breath,
forever ebbing and flowing
at the shores your white face.

~

In your trail of stars I follow,
a fluttering butterfly
slowly reaping ecstasy
and dripping nectared honey,
poetry burning in the night sky.

Free Verse # 104 (playful kiss)

The heart’s pulp would not turn to wine
unless it be crushed on the sacred altar of love.

~

My heart is a star
hollowed out by love
so it could wear your finger,
turn like a necklace
round your neck.

~

Droplets from a citrus sun
I squeeze onto your tongue,
sprinkle a dash of stars for salt,
and pour in noon’s golden ale
for a deep, playful kiss.

~

Resting in desire’s lap
the bowl of poetry is overflowing
like a full moon.

Dip your fingers, my love,
and write my body into existence,
a sacred verse crowning your sky.

~

Only the spirit can uplift the body
to an ecstasy far beyond the stars,
to a clarity deeper than the stillness of dawn.

~

Asleep,
our dreams flutter in the nightsky,
plant kisses as brilliant stars
guiding lovers home.

~

Love’s absence reveals its depth,
as the sun fading over the horizon
reveals heaven’s truth,
our kinship with the stars.

~

Fireflies,
a drifting starry sky below gazing
at the milky way above.

In between,
the silence of the night
enfolding us in the great mystery.

Free Verse # 88

Your love,
a lightning insatiably
licking at my skin.

~

With soft lips
you press your poems
like seeds into my skin,
and then you breathe,
and lo!, each seed is a flower
singing fragrant praise.

~

Her breath seeps,
a wet, silver veil
teeming with
burning stars.

~

Naught is there to life but this…

My love,
we are eternal wanderers
casting our sail
between the moon and sun,
through the sea of stars.

Each night
our loving embrace
is an oasis,
a tender desert flower
filling up with ecstasy
and dancing
until the break of dawn.

Free Verse # 80

You inhabit my heart like a spring ever bursting into song.

~

So blended
that when you speak words flow from my mouth,
that when you breathe my chest rises and falls to the rhythm of our love.

~

I carry you in me,
a sacred song now rising
to stroke the sea of stars and fall,
a warm breath of dreams.

~

Tied by a hidden thread,
by a bond stronger than the bond of stars,
each pulse and shiver ripple a being
dwelling outside the bounds of time.

~

Poetry is the music of the soul spilled into the vessels of words.

~

I pass my fingers through your hair
as stars fall from the sky
to wet the earth’s parched lips.

~

Awaiting the dawn,
our tangled bodies weep,
scattering stars.

~

Dawn,
our breath falls, extinguished,
open like the sky.

~

I begged you to recite me love-poems.
You smiled playfully and kissed me
turning me to burning dust
quivering in your storm.
