Free Verse # 392 (the heart of the rising sun)

Full moon tonight…
in the blowing breeze
my words scatter,
fragrant petals
falling to her feet.

~

Silently we slipped away,
two foxes wearing for skin
the gold of poetry,
and in the blue of dawn
love was a field opening
to the heart of the rising sun.

~

Dawn…
my breath and yours
merging
over the silent fields,
a quiet prayer
from amid our joined ribs
rising
to greet the rising sun.

~

My poetry draws you
in lines of everlasting beauty
in the deeps of my mind;
one day I will vanish
and you will shine on.

~

Starbreath at dawn…
I go to you clad in the wings
of a thousand kisses,
all vying like poems
to drink from your mouth.

~

Starbreath at dawn…
on your pillow my poem
holding vigil

Free Verse # 202 (love has kissed their souls)

The passion of the ages
Harnessed in your cup
And I, a desert wanderer,
An itinerant heart
Whose endless thirst
Only your juice can slake.

~

My scent lingering on your skin
At night like a snake twists and turns,
Pressing my essence ever deeper,
Soaking you, whole.

Freydoon Rassouli, Birth of the Sun

Exuberant sun
From amid her hills rising –
Love has kissed her soul.

~

Poetry made flesh –
She, a cosmos of wild stars
Burning through the sky.

~

Where is she? I sighed,
And my breath like a bright star
Furrowed through the sky.

~

What of mind remains when your kiss
Being and heart has soaked in bliss
Incinerating to the core
A flesh that laps your endless shore

Free Verse # 88

Your love,
a lightning insatiably
licking at my skin.

~

With soft lips
you press your poems
like seeds into my skin,
and then you breathe,
and lo!, each seed is a flower
singing fragrant praise.

~

Her breath seeps,
a wet, silver veil
teeming with
burning stars.

~

Naught is there to life but this…

My love,
we are eternal wanderers
casting our sail
between the moon and sun,
through the sea of stars.

Each night
our loving embrace
is an oasis,
a tender desert flower
filling up with ecstasy
and dancing
until the break of dawn.
