Free Verse # 237 (alone on the bridge)

Alone on the bridge,
The fog against my skin
A sigh for a long awaited kiss.

~

The deeper the soul the greater the solitude.

~

This silence,
Cumulus clouds
In the horizon of her eyes.

~

They painted each other with the hues of a passion so rarely found in this buzzing world.

~

This poem
In her eyes
A nimbus moon

~

Remember her? For that, even if momentarily, I must forget her, but she is to my mind as salt in the sea.

~

Fortunate to touch her and for a moment be what God is for all eternity.

~

This poem
Born of a dewdrop
On the curve of her cheek

~

Poetry the bond between my heart and hers.

~

A voice
Trailing through the fog,
Its dew soaking
Leaf and stone,
Shivering a womb
With silence swelled.

~

Again, on the shore of silence my heart breaks, a wave that strayed so far away from home.

~

Still and silent
As the onset of twilight
My heart in her presence
A flower welcoming the sun
